Barry Hobday
Managing Director
Meet Barry, our Managing Director since 2017. Barry joined the company after completing a degree in Social Sciences at the University of Leicester.
With over 20 years in the industry, he's become a technical expert in ventilation application, products and solutions. His greatest joy comes from designing bespoke solutions for those challenging and unique projects. He's built up a portfolio of iconic projects over the years including work on The National Theatre, Mandarin Oriental Hotel and London Crossrail.
Day to day, Barry is in charge of operations, working with existing clients and winning new jobs. He also leads the strategic vision and direction of MAPUK with his team beside him.
Outside of the office, it's all about family life and raising four young children (who are sending him grey!). He also loves to garden, fix anything technical and run in the great outdoors.

Paul Farries
Senior Technical Sales Engineer
Meet Paul, our Senior Technical Sales Engineer, with over 28 years' experience in the industry. Paul regularly meets with our clients at the start of a project and guides them throughout the whole process. His expertise puts him in the perfect position to advise on product choice and innovative solutions. He can also deliver bespoke solutions for those tricky applications.
Paul has a solid knowledge of ultra-high end residential, commercial, leisure, financial, manufacturing and industrial sectors. Notable projects include Chelsea Barracks, Wells Fargo UK Head Office and One Braham – BT Headquarters.
Outside of the office, Paul enjoys Motorsport. The big ambition is to one day get behind the wheel (or be a passenger) in a modern Formula 1 car.
Chloe Howes
Technical Sales Engineer & Quality Assurance Coordinator
Meet Chloe, our Technical Sales Engineer and Quality Assurance Coordinator. Chloe first joined MAPUK as an apprentice, studying Mechanical Engineering. With great product knowledge and understanding of applications, she's grown in skills over the years and become a highly skilled and valued member of the team. Chloe now manages her own projects, building up her portfolio of clients.
Outside of the office, Chloe is a big animal lover. She's often found spoiling our office wellbeing dog, Huxley. Chloe would love to volunteer at a rescue centre or provide support with the rehabilitation of animals in the future.

Joe Cook
Technical Sales Engineer
Meet Joe, our Techical Sales Engineer. Joe joined the team whilst studying for a degree in Quantity Surveying from Anglia Ruskin University, passing with a First Class Honours.
Joe provides valuable support to the team, processing sales orders and offering after sales support. He continues to develop his technical skills and training within the HVAC industry. With a great eye for detail, Joe is good at technical applications and understanding our customers' needs, delivering solid product, service and technical engineering information.
In his spare time, Joe loves to watch international racing - seeing an F1 race comes very high on his list of things to do!

Karen Dempster
Executive Assistant & Office Manager
Meet Karen, our Executive Assistant and Office Manager. Karen has been working in operational roles for over 25 years after graduating from Secretarial College.
An efficient and skilled manager, Karen organises office operations and procedures, preparing payroll, controlling correspondence and monitoring clerical functions. Karen helps to keep the cogs of MAPUK turning, handling multiple tasks and maintaining office efficiency, allowing the rest of the team to focus on what they do best.
Out of the office, Karen loves to travel. Lapland is top of the bucket list….you are never too old to meet Santa.

Claire Hobday
Strategic Communications Manager
Meet Claire, our Strategic Communications Manager. With a degree in Communications, Claire has worked in the industry for over 20 years. Working in a variety of roles, she started her career in press and public relations, and went on to lead a number of national campaigns. Over the years she transferred her skills to internal communications, delivering internal marketing campaigns and driving employee engagement.
Claire joined MAPUK to help share our company messages, products and services. She works closely with the team to identify marketing opportunities and develop content to be disseminated via our social media channels and website.
Outside of work life Claire loves to run, attempt pilates, sample new gins (!) and spend quality time with her family.

Huxley
Wellbeing Dog
Meet Huxley, our office wellbeing dog. Huxley gives our staff a reason to take a break from their work, a reason to disconnect and recharge. There is no better way to do it than with the love and affection of our favourite 4-legged employee.
Outside of work, Huxley enjoys nothing more than long off the lead walks and runs in the countryside, only made better by the presence of his favourite tennis ball. He is a super social dog with a love of anyone interested in him, whether two or four legged.
Huxley is an asset and a joy to have in the office. He is a truly valued member of the MAPUK family.

Alex Line
Graduate Sales Engineer
Alex is a valuable addition to our team, bringing experience and an enthusiasm to learn. Prior to joining MAPUK Alex studied Economics at De Montfort University and worked within the HVAC industry gaining invaluable hands-on experience in various areas, including manufacturing, dispatch and planning. This diverse background has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of HVAC products, from their functionality to their manufacturing processes.
Alex quickly understands the intricacies of products and their processes and is currently developing his knowledge base, supporting staff with a wide range of projects. He also assists the team in a variety of daily tasks including technical support, processing orders and providing exceptional customer service.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys playing and watching football and is a keen Manchester United fan. He also enjoys travel and food, aspiring to visit every continent and sample a diverse array of cuisines from around the world.

Patrick Bradshaw
Graduate Sales Engineer
Patrick is a valued member of the MAPUK team and brings a great enthusiasm to the role of Graduate Sales Engineer. Graduating with a 2:1 in mechanical engineering from Swansea University, Patrick's background provides him with a solid foundation in understanding the principles of mechanical systems.
In his role, Patrick is responsible for providing technical support and processing orders. He continuously develops his understanding of the HVAC industry by working alongside colleagues to observe real-life scenarios and product applications. Patrick also enjoys interpreting and producing CAD drawings for HVAC equipment, showcasing his ability to translate technical concepts into tangible solutions.
With a keen interest in sustainability, Patrick is particularly fascinated by how the HVAC industry will adapt to meet increasing consumer demand for sustainable solutions as the world moves towards net-zero emissions. He is committed to staying abreast of developments in this area and within the industry.
Outside of work, Patrick enjoys the world of comic books and films and exploring the great outdoors through hiking. His travel goals include witnessing the beauty of the great barrier reef.

Sharon Valentine
Administration Assistant
Sharon is a valued member of our team, bringing her wealth of experience and dedication to her role as Administration Assistant, she seamlessly integrates into the bustling office environment, thanks to her supportive nature and friendly approach.
With a background in office administration, Sharon's role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of our office. From booking deliveries to managing invoicing and credit control, she plays a pivotal role in keeping our daily operations running smoothly.
Sharon's attention to detail, proactive approach and ability to multitask make her an invaluable asset to the team, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Outside of work, Sharon finds joy in a variety of hobbies whether it's taking leisurely walks, getting lost in the pages of a good book, or indulging her creative side through knitting and crocheting.
