In the heart of London's historic SW1 district lies 78 St James’s Street, a Grade II listed building. The refurbishment project demanded a delicate balance of technical expertise and experience in handling historically significant structures.

Formerly housing HSBC's private bank headquarters, the Georgian building underwent a transformative redevelopment. The project breathed new life into the space, converting it into 110,000 square feet of modern office space, complete with a contemporary pavilion extension and rooftop terraces offering views of London.

Given the building's significance past and architectural significance, choosing the right airflow solution was paramount. MAPUK was entrusted with this task, and we rose to the occasion with a range of meticulously selected products designed to seamlessly integrate with the building's heritage.

Our supply of LDB linear air diffusers played a pivotal role in ensuring inconspicuous installation while facilitating draft-free airflow through the rapid mixing of supplied air with room air. Moreover, our ceiling-mounted air diffusers, featuring aerodynamically designed slot nozzles, ensured low-noise air distribution—a crucial consideration for a professional work environment.

Collaborating closely with the project's architects, our technical team devised discreet installation solutions that respected the Grade II listed building's internal layout. The strategic placement of MF1N-U8 decorative linear grilles, integrated into joinery, ceilings and sidewalls across multiple floors, preserved the building's aesthetic integrity.

With the completion of this ambitious refurbishment project, 78 St James’s Street received a new lease on life, offering corporate occupants optimum comfort while harmonising with its historic interior. At MAPUK, we take pride in our dedication to enhancing the functionality and beauty of historical buildings like 78 St James’s Street, seamlessly blending tradition with innovation through the integration of cutting-edge HVAC technology.
